Do You Have Different Names And Dates Of Birth?
UIDAI matches data before linking
There are a huge number of citizens whose names, dates of birth, sexual orientation, and numerous other significant data don’t coordinate in the PAN card and Aadhaar card.
There can be many reasons for this. In the process of linking Aadhaar and PAN, the Income Tax Department matches the data with UIDAI. If the information provided in both documents does not match, the linking request is rejected.
It may be mentioned that UIDAI has stopped the partial matching process of information required in December 2017 for the solution of false identification or any other glitch.
What to do if data does not match?
If your PAN-Aadhaar linking process is rejected due to data mismatch, you have the option of Biometric Aadhaar Authentication. For this you have to download Aadhaar Seeding Request from NSDL portal. After this, you need to go to your nearest PAN center and complete the offline biometric base authentication process. You can get information about your nearest PAN center using NSDL or UTISL website.
What other option do you have
This is a very simple 1 page form, in which you have to fill in your PAN number, Aadhaar number and the name given in both the documents. Aside from this, you have another choice, with the assistance of which your work should be possible. Before the Aadhaar-PAN linking process, you will need to update the required information in onq
e of the documents. Once this is done, you can manually link PAN-support online.
What will happen if PAN-support is not linked?
Permanent account number i.e. last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar number is 31st March 2021. If you have not yet linked your PAN to Aadhaar, link to it as soon as possible, because after March 31, those whose Aadhaar will not be linked to PAN will have their PAN disabled from 1 April 2021.
After this, you will have to pay a heavy fine for reactivating the page. Now to file an income tax return (ITR), it is also necessary to provide the Aadhaar number along with the PAN.
